Come EARLY if you want a good camping spot! We had a great time floating this last weekend, spent 3 nights camping as well. Parts of the flowing creeks were deep enough to swim in even. Definitely will come again. Just perhaps on a less busy day. Things to know: 1. Nearest town is 25-30 minutes away 2. There are two camp stores. One by the river the other on the top (where you need to check in) 3. It's pricey! $8 for large bag of ice (same price for the wood). Definitely $$ for drinks as well 4. CROWDED at the campsites Fridays and Saturday nights. By 11am Sunday nearly the whole camp was cleared out. Wish we floated on Sunday instead. It was peaceful compared to the chaos of the last two nights 5. There are flushing toilets and showers at the front of the campsite. Near the back you'll have to use the portable restrooms 6. Wear shoes, it's rocky 7. HIDE YOUR FOOD at night, the possums and wild animals at night were no joke. Definitely regret leaving out the marshmallows. Ha ha

We had a good time! There were picnic tables and BBQ grills behind the cabins! I prefer the brown cabins over the villages which had a rocky backyard instead of grass! We took a raft this was a good choice as the water was cold!

My favorite outfitter on my favorite river to float locally. They treat you right. Your camping fees are included in your kayak rental. Its a huge place with lots of room to spread out and enjoy nature.

1st time here & I loved it!! I was all about kayaking the river..very nice river, clean, clear water..cool little beachy areas on the route..little area you could jump off a small cliff into the river..people at the office are the best! Very friendly & helpful! Bus driver's are great! Definitely be going again...gotta do the 14 miles!!

Very clean place. I've been here 4 times in th3 last few years. All you need are some thermacells and a campfire to get rid of the flying pests. I love this place. The kayaking is wonderful!!

It is a nice camp ground and the people that work here are great. The down side is if you are in a cabin or RV spot you are a mile from the river

Sometimes a little hard to get in touch with with their off-season hours, but we love going in the fall! Beautiful location and weather, nice people. We usually have stayed in one of the cabins closer to the entrance and a tent for 2 nights, but we were down in the village this year for one night. No one else was there, it was great. It would be fun to come with a big group and everyone could get their own cabins or go in together. Cabins are like a hotel room with linens, Coffee pot, fridge, heat/air, etc. Canoeing the Niangua is my favorite river. River moves at a good speed, even with there not being much rain it was good. NRO has restrooms on the river at a good break time (we eat lunch at that time often as well). We've done the 11mi the last few times but also the 7. Thankful the take-out was at Maggards this year, the other takeout before Willy's is pretty hairy and dangerous! It is a spring-fed river so the water is cold/cool year-round.

Had an amazing time... despite breaking my leg 5 min into a 14 mile float. (First time on a kayak) Was a blast none the less. Will definitely be back one day.
